So we have the largest data breach in history, the CEO of Equifax states their response will be epic, which it has been - epically bad! I've been trying to freeze my credit for the last week - the website doesn't work (you enter your data and then get an error message the system is unavailable at this time - multiple times a day for a full week!), the automated phone lines take your info and then tell you they can't process your request and state they are transferring you to an agent, then you get a dial tone.

The chat feature has been disabled on the website. This should be a case study in what not to do in crisis management.

This is similar to a house on fire, the fire department sitting in the firehouse watching TV and saying 'we'll get around to it' while the house burns to the ground. Equifax's response has been horrible and the CEO should be fired.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Both phone and their computer systems down or not working to place a freeze on my SS number.... I've tried several times since the break-in without obvious success.

Their upper management and any stockholders who had prior knowledge of the break-in before it became public and advantage themselves financially prior to public disclosure should be prosecuted with substantial sentences.
