I AM EMPLOYED

MY EMPLOYER IS: RESOURCES for HUMAN DEVELOPMENT. I HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED BY RESOURCES for HUMAN DEVELOPMENT FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 YEARS. HOW EQUIFAX OVERLOOKED THIS FACT IS MIND BOGGLING. I AM A DISABLED VETERAN AND RECIEVE A %100 VETERAN ADMINISTRATION DISABILITY BENEFIT. I RECIEVE A $101.65 pension from a vested interest in a union I belonged to.

Decrease in credit score

I filed a dispute on my Equifax credit report then my credit score went down 55 points overnight. Been trying to get the dispute taken care of for over three months. Still not taken care of. And is all on their end.

FRAUD ALIENS

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

WtfTOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, UNPROFESSIONAL and INTRUSION OF PRIVACY. I recently had my identity STOLEN and called and reported it to Experian, Trans Union and TRIED with Equifax having a FREEZE put on my account.

After multiple phone calls with Equifax requesting they FREEZE access to my CREDIT, I was told to write a letter including a copy of my SS Card, and Driver's License after answering multiple questions to verify my identity. It was the same b.s. with two other Equifax representatives and I requested a supervisor which I never got after being on terminal hold. I'm not sure what SCAM they are running, but something is not on the up and up.

It's like trying to deal with aliens that barely speak English and the end result is the same. I finally told the third representative they all could go *** themselves and I was reporting them to the BBB, among other agencies so perhaps they might get ready to write a letter explaining whatever FRAUD they are trying to pull off.

Unbelievable as what is going on in the world with VOTER FRAUD. Pissed in Florida.

Horrible Agency

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My story with this agency; I have a fraud alert due to identity theft with all 3 credit Bureaus, when I was ready to permanently removed from my credit report, I was successful with Experian and TransUnion, I even received the acknowledgment letter from them, but not with Equifax, 1st you cannot do it online like the rest, so I had to send a request by mail and of course with all the documents they request, ID etc. So I waited and waited, nothing, I double-check the address they had to send the documents and it was correct, so I decided to send it again for the 2nd time, nothing, so I decided to call, what a nightmare, was placed on hold, transferred me here and there and no one was able to help, so I decided to email them, still waiting for a response.

I don't know what to do, as doing the removal by phone is hard because the questions they ask it all pertain to the thief that stole my identity, so it's hard to answer them.

I was able to clear all the fraudulent charges, thank God, but the questions remained the same, so that is another problem, I tried to fix that problem by asking them if they could remove the fraudulent information from my credit report questionnaire as it all pertain to the thief, and they said they can't, so I have to wait years for this fraudulent info to go away.

I now have identity theft protection and don't need the fraud alert as I am planning to buy a house, so when the bank checks my report they can't get through, so they have to call me and guess what, they ask me the same questions that belong to the thief. I am monitoring my credit report weekly and of coursed the thief was charged with his crimes but got away with many goods under my name and no jail time. That's another nightmare. I took control of the situation but having problems with just Equifax.

The victims of identity theft are the ones that suffer trying to get a simple credit report, as everyone knows the questionnaire is about our personal info and credit, home and loan transactions, which is easy to answer if they belong to you not the thief.

Equifax also refused to remove a fraudulent address that belongs to the thief, I've tried like 5 times with no luck is still there and gives me anxiety just to look at something that doesn't belong to me. Experian and TransUnion cleared everything that was not mines with no problem. So with that said, Equifax need better customer service and help me with my request. I will continue to reach out until my request is completed.

I already have enough headache with my identity being stolen, the damage never ends.

So to everyone reading my complain be careful, guard your information, there's no help to fight identity theft, you are on your own and is not easy, it took me 7 years to fight all these fraudulent charges and cleared my credit report, but there is some glitches with the questionnaire that need to be addressed to help the victims of identity theft, or course you have to show proof and a police report that this is truly you the "victim" which I have. Be safe.

Ridiculous verification process (INSANE)

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They said they were unable to verify me using my cell phone number or email (both of which I have had for a long time and are used by EVERYONE ELSE with no problem). Then, they proceeded to ask questions about accounts from over a decade agao and the "monthly payments" .. I no longer have these accounts active and do not keep records from that longf ago, so these kinds of questions are just WRONG to be asking for ID ... the did not ask about anything current - they focused on financial records from my ancienat past that I have no idea what the answers are ... finally had ot give up! They are totally out of their f ing minds over there!

Failed to cancel services, still charging my bank account

It is 1/25/2021. Over a week ago I spoke with a customer service rep and a product specialist to cancel my Patrol ID/Identity theft product and they assured me it was taken care of. I spoke with a customer service rep and a product specialist who grilled my for all sorts of info and why was I canceling? They assured me it would be taken care of. I got charged yesterday for the products again. They kept passing me around to different account specialists and then I was hung up on.

Extremely poor customer service and difficult to work with

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have spent days trying to get myequifax.com to work. I faxed in my name, social security number, birthdate, address and copy of my drivers license.

i finally got to someone who ran me thru the wringer to identify myself (it took over an hour to get thru the processes and transfers) then found out myequifax.com still didnt work. i got to someone who made me change my password and that still didnt work. i was assured waiting an hour for system to update would fix it. i waited until the next day and it still didnt work.

i called again and was subsequently told that i needed to send my info in again, this time including a copy of my social security card. i was told that unless i send a copy of my social security card i would not be able to get access to myequifax.com, the primary way we the people have of maintaining our equifax credit information, freeze status, etc.

Equifax processes, procedures and requirements are extremely unreasonable and customer unfriendly. Phone support simply reads scripts (repeatedly) and follow step 1,2,3 with no option to understand the constraints the public has to work under. THEY ARE PROCESS BOUND.

Social Security card information should not be their only way to confirm someone. Actions need to be taken to correct this obstacle and provide better ways to validate identification that provide alternatives to only getting a copy of the social security card.

User's recommendation: a) try not to have to deal with Equifax b) try not to deal with Chase bank which seems to only use equifax with no alternative to use the other credit bureaus which are offer better information and service c) provide additional methods of identifying someone.

They breached my data. :(

Nothing has been done for me about this nightmare. I keep cleaning up their mess.

Original review Aug 05, 2020
My personal data was breached by Equifax back in 2017. I have been fighting fraud accounts being opened up with my personal data ever since and it sucks.
I was also a part of the class-action suit that was brought against them.

Why have we not been compensated for their obvious mistake?

This case was settled a while ago, yet people like me have to suffer ongoing frustration because of this company.
This whole situation has been a nightmare. This company is a joke and I hope karma gets them in the end.

Inaccorate information

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On July 6, 2020 in checking my credit report it showed that my credit score decreased by 17 points. In checking the accounts it showed that my Lowes account had $5.

added to it and changed my usage from 9% to 10%. I made no purchases and it was not from late fee or anything like that. It looks like Equifax itself added this $5.00. On July 7, 2020 I paid this credit card and another credit card in full; matter of fact I have a credit on these two accounts.

Here it is 23 days later and both accounts still haven't been updated to reflect paid in full but still showing last update as June 28, 2020, over a month ago.

Went online to Equifax site to dispute, filled the dispute form out and did the I am not a verify robot box, clicked on the submit button and it wouldn't do nothing. Went thru the entire process again and it still would not submit.

Time to try the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

Temporary passwords non-functioning; customer service non-existent

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Sep 30, 2020

On 4th attempt, after holding about 40 minutes, was able to enter the temporary password they gave me and log on.On every attempt to contact Equifax, I was initially asked if I was whatever term they use for "paying customer." I am, since they convinced me that I needed credit monitoring for $16.95 a month. The wording of the customer service rep was "And the really exciting thing about this service is that you can cancel it at any time!" He sounded really excited!

A confirmation email stated that I have a one-year commitment, which I did not agree to. Not sure I have the time or stamina to try again by phone to cancel, due to what is required of even "paying customers" on each call.I got the idea that if I had answered that I was not a "paying customer" that I wouldn't have gotten even that far.

Original review Aug 31, 2020
answered all security questions; held 20 minutes; selected customer call-back; when called back, I was transferred to another number for customers with products; held 10 more minutes; rep could not help me; couldn't understand why 3rd attempt to use temp password did not work; hung up on me. tried phone # for corporate offices in Atlanta and calls do not go through. Beyond maddening.

Credit Report Issue

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Attempting to refinance mortgage, and (potential) lender cannot successfully pull Equifax credit report in order to complete process. In turn, I created new Equifax online profile to try to access my report myself.

Initially, my home page indicated no score (just a big question mark where the score should be), and after 2 calls to Equifax customer service, they were able to get a score to appear. However, there is no supporting statistics or information available for viewing. Have made several more calls to customer service, and all I get back in response are apologies and requests to try to access my profile a few hours later as there are updates being performed, or there's an issue with my account and it should be resolved in an hour or so. This is all within a span of the past 4 days and nothing has changed.

I've explained that its crucial that my report be accessed or I cannot complete the refinance process. The customer support agents only supply "canned " answers, and have no desire to help me by escalating this issue, despite my requests to do so.
